Project: CT (County Towns)
Goal: street photography in the 12 provincial capitals of The Netherlands
Start date: 7-4-2012
End date: 31-12-2014
The project CT will lead to 12 related posts that show 15 – 20 pictures of the specific county town.
The fun of this project is the combination of travelling to other cities, learning more of those cities and to do street photography.
I prepare my visits by surfing on the web and I visit the local tourist promotion office on the spot.
Navigation to the CT cities can be done by putting the mouse on the ‘CT’ link in the menu bar at the top of this website. Or click on the city related photo on this page.
CT – Haarlem
Haarlem is the provincial capital of Noord-Holland. It has an old center with canal houses and a characteristic train station.
Saturday April 7, 2012:
4,5 hour street walk in the old center and train station. Dry weather with sun and clouds. Temperature 7 – 8 degrees Celsius; wind force 4 on the scale of Beaufort.
There was a market on the ‘Grote Markt’ and ‘Botermarkt’. Mainly food and flowers. I like markets because there is always interaction between sellers and buyers.
