7-up! best street photos april 2011
ByA tough job to do, but I selected my 7 favorite photos uploaded in the Flickr group ‘Your best street photo’. My criteria are both rational and emotional:
- shots taken in April 2011 and posted not later than April 31th
- photos downloadable on Flickr
- I must love them!
Intermediate position of the group:
Growing steadily with 102 members and 217 best street photos.
Enjoy my selection of April 2011 in ‘Your best street photo’:
Click on the image and you will go to the original photo on Flickr or to the website of the photographer. All photographers gave their permission to publish.
Feel free to join ‘Your best street photo‘ and post your two best shots taken in May 2011. The selection for 7-up! of May will be done on June 1st, so be on time! No problem if you post older photos, but they will not be featured unfortunately. Don’t forget to make them downloadable.
Tip: you can always change the photos you have posted in the group. If you uploaded 2 photos already and you want to change them, just remove them from the group and add another one.
Let me know which photo you like most in a comment!

Love the selection Fokko, great work! My favorite is Simon Garnier’s photo.
Wow! These are some great examples of street photography! My favorite is the couple. Such a genuine moment of love, well composed – and historically important, showing an example of our current “green” culture. An honor to have been chosen among these photos. Thanks Fokko!
Great pictures, difficult to make a choice but my favorite is the couple made by Marco Fiori
Thanks Fokko – I’m truely honoured that you’d pick one of my photos! It’s one of the best I’ve ever taken so it’s nice to receive recognition.
Even nicer are the comments appreciating my work.
I’d have to say Thomas’ is my favourite!
You’re welcome. It is a beautiful shot. You used 230mm and that is a quite save distance, because it is a very intimate moment. I’m glad you took it!
Would you have taken it with a 28mm or 50mm?
My general style is to shoot far away – not becuase I am nervous or apprehensive about getting close to people, but because I want to capture them truely unawares.
Probably not, my 18-55 is a standard kit lens, so I generally walk around with my 70-300 – that pushes me to thinking about range more than being able to shoot close up. I will get a 55 prime eventually, then my style might change.
Hi Marco, I like your shots. I think you can give them more power by using 24mm or 28mm or with the kit lens. You will add more environment to your photos. Try it and let me know what you think.

This was a great selection. I love Danny’s shot of the guy in the cowboy hat. He has an interesting expression, very candid.

I like the shots of Sven Muller and Danny Delgado the most, but all 7 are great.
